Award Objectives

The goal of the YoungStar Awards is to recognise and reward the youth of our communities in their quest to reach excellence in sport, arts, education, and community involvement. They are sponsored by Quest Community Newspapers and McDonald's Brisbane restaurants.

Who can be nominated...

Achievers from 8-18 years of age may be nominated. You may nominate yourself or any person for any noteworthy achievement in the following three categories: Sport, Arts/Education, Community.

Awards & Prizes

An awards ceremony will be held monthly
Successful monthly winners will receive a sports bag from McDonald's, medallion, a certificate of merit and recognition in their local Quest newspaper.

The Overall Category Award Winners Will Each Receive:

$2000

Annual awards will be presented at a gala awards night in June. See your local Quest newspaper for details.

Conditions of Entry

Nominations can be made on this form.
Anyone can nominate a person for the YoungStar Awards, but if the nomination is made by a family member then a signed verification by a coach, physical education instructor or teacher, or the person who is nominated, is also required.

Nominees agree to allow the use of their nomination details for award publicity purposes. All nominations are administered by Quest Community Newspapers. Incorrect, ineligible or incomplete nomination forms may not be acknowledged or processed. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Nominations will be processed on a monthly basis and close on the last day of each month. Nomination forms are available at your nearest Quest Community Newspapers office or McDonald's Brisbane restaurant and can be downloaded from here. Monthly winners will automatically qualify for the judging of their paper area category award. Paper winners automatically qualify for the judging of the overall category title for 2007/2008. Each overall category winner will receive $2000.

Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
